        Verdict

        Knanjar, Monash Lad and Oldenway are the three against the field here with the vote going to the last named. Oldenway has been performing well all season and has won three times since the turn of the year. The handicapper has taken note but he still seems to run with credit in defeat. He was last seen out when finishing four lengths behind Unique Mount at Beverley and another sound effort like that will see him go close once more. Knanjar ran second to Sualda at Hamilton last time out and was only beaten a head that day. He could be coming back to form so is worth noting. As is Monash Lad who caught the eye at Carlisle last time out when finishing third so is another to put on the short list. But for the winner we return to Oldenway.
