Yet another puzzle for punters and Special Gold is a token selection ahead of Namir and Howards Princess. Following a couple of disappointing efforts Special Gold returned to his best with an excellent run at Pontefract last time out. He kept on well to finish third to Sir Loin with some seasoned handicappers behind. A similar effort today could be good enough to take the honours. Namir hit winning form last time beating Bahamian Ballett in game fashion also at Pontefract. The handicapper may have in his grip now but he should still make his presence felt. Howards Princess is not the most consistent of performers but she has obvious claims on the pick of this season's form. The Leather Wedge is in good heart at the moment and looks the pick of the others, but if Special Gold is back to his best he will be hard to beat.
