With young racegoers perhaps supping their cocoa by now, Ridge Wood Dani is taken to outpoint the first time out winner, Mayoman and Cheshire Rose. A fast ground winner at Warwick as a juvenile, Ridge Wood Dani ran a blinder on his reappearance, finishing a head second to Speedy Senorita who has scored twice subsequently, the last win coming off a 10 pound higher mark. Ridge Wood Dani therefore could be well in here only four pounds higher and looks the one to beat, especially as improvement is likely to be forthcoming. Mayoman could have done no more on debut than win as he did at Catterick by a length, with the runner-up filling the same place next time to give the form a decent feel. He may find this contest tougher however although he should have learned from the experience. Cheshire Rose clearly appreciates an easier surface than she encounters here- she won on heavy ground on her juvenile debut and was only just touched off on soft ground on her seasonal re-appearance at Goodwood. She needs rain but is unlikely to get it so is opposed. Ridge Wood Dani looks the one to side with.
