Lafi and Celtic Mill hold obvious claims here but are unlikely to represent any value in a race that may be more competitive than at first glance and it might be worth taking a chance with Santisima Trinidad. Tim Easterby's mare has been threatening to win a race of this nature for some time and, with her stable in better form now, she may be worth a punt at rewarding odds. Lafi is unexposed and equipped himself well in a tough handicap at Sandown last time having won at the same track previously. He rates a bigger threat than Celtic Mill, who may now be in the grip of the handicapper following a 10lb rise in the weights for his latest success at Hamilton. Ellens Academy has slipped to an attractive mark and is another to consider, along with the consistent pairing of Blue Spinnaker and Raphael. The last mentioned is a stablemate of Santisima Trinidad and has to be respected off her light weight but we are prepared to take a chance with the selection, who has been given a chance by the handicapper.
