Zarzu won well in similar company at Catterick earlier in the week but that was over five furlongs and Karl Burke's gelding may not be suited by the step up to today's trip so is passed over in favour of Noul, who gets the vote over Desert Fury. The last mentioned has been campaigned on the all-weather and in handicaps of late and should appreciate the return to turf and this drop in class. Mantles Pride, who is well treated on official BHB ratings, and Tancred Arms, who receives weight from most of these are others to consider but Noul looks the one to beat. Kevin Ryan's gelding has been running creditably in handicaps of late, takes a drop in class, is well served by today's distance and comes from a stable in form. He has more going for him that most.
