An interesting fillies contest can go to Crystal Curling, who is just preferred over Ice Palace and Rainbow Quest, who may give the selection the most to do. This is a much easier race than the last time that Ice Palace tried this trip and, as the ground has definitely come up in her favour, she is given the benefit of the doubt about it suiting this time around. Even so, as a half-sister to a number of useful milers, there does have to be a stamina query about her at this stage and she is not one to go overboard about despite hailing from an in-form yard. There also has to be a similar nagging doubt about Rainbow Queen, who has not been seen in action since she was well beaten in the Fillies Mile at Ascot last September and has to prove her race-fitness today. Out of the remainder: Blue Oasis is another that has to prove she will get the trip and, like Montmartre, has improvement to find whatever happens today. While Cote Quest and Jubilee Treat has too many questions to answer to be given a confident mention to make the frame in this company. Therefore, having already held her own at a similar level and with fewer questions to answer than the rest, Crystal Curling is given the vote to build on, what have been, some fair efforts in defeat this season.
