In depth

Verdict

Wild Cane Ridge can reverse earlier form with King Killone on these terms, while Onley Lad looks the best of the rest on the pick of this season's efforts. Onley Lad benefited from a canny ride from Russ Garrity when defying the odds at Wetherby last month. He still has scope for improvement and should not be underestimated in tight little race like this. King Killone was well regarded during his early days with Henrietta Knight and has always looked a chaser in the making. His current trainer, Harry Hogarth, still thinks he has some strengthening to do though, and he may not want the ground to be too testing. Therefore, Wild Cane Ridge looks the logical choice now that they meet off level weights. The Len Lungo-trained gelding romped to victory at Ayr earlier in the month and is fancied to be hard to beat now that his confidence is on a high.
