    Verdict

Taurian gets the call ahead of River Ardeche, with Bahamian Gift and Suzi Spends other likely dangers. Some promising sorts line up here, but we shall rely on the experience of Taurian, winner of two of his five starts, including a fast-ground nursery at Hamilton last time. His ability to handle the ground is open to question, but other than that, he boasts solid claims. Pat Haslam has a good team of juveniles, and River Ardeche could be up there with the best of them judged on his easy debut win at York. He sluiced through the heavy ground that day, but takes on better company here. Nevertheless, with Kevin Darley on board, he looks a big threat. Bahamian Gift is one from one at Ayr where she still looked green despite being a January foal. She is another with more to offer along with Suzi Spends who may benefit from this drop back in trip after running out of steam close home at Wolverhampton. An interesting contest can go to Taurian.
