Providing he copes with the ground, which he should, ASRAAB is going to be hard to beat despite this looking a warm handicap. Godolphin's Oasis Dream colt won a maiden that's worked out very nicely as a juvenile and returned to the track with a luckless second at Salisbury having been extremely well-backed beforehand. He's up 4lb but should have drawn improvement from that run and can defy the handicapper on his way to better things. Kalk Bay is a half-brother to the yard's crack sprinter King's Apostle so this drop back from a mile won't be a problem and he clearly likes to get his toe in, but defying a 9lb rise in this higher grade will surely not be easy. Bowmaker looked unlucky on his handicap debut at Lingfield back in the spring and has been off the track since taking in a fair Newmarket handicap so a market check is advised as the best is probably to come while stable companion Al Farahidi would be a threat if allowed to dominate although the ground may be slower than ideal for him.
