A weak maiden in which it's easy to see Regimental running well on ground that suits, but Ann Duffield's charge is no better than his official rating of 61 and therefore looks opposable. The one we'll take him on with is SEE THE SMILE, an American-bred debutant for Michael Bell. He's the first foal of a dam who is closely related to soft ground performers so conditions should be fine and the trainer has a 20% strike-rate with juveniles at the track; market support would be encouraging but he has solid enough paper credentials to earn our vote. Fearless Poet is another fascinating newcomer in the context of this poor affair as he's a half-brother to several winners, some of whom came to hand early, and again the market should be watched with interest.
