In depth

Verdict

Wilhelm Vonvenster was closing on the leaders when unseating two out at Doncaster but PHOENIX STRIKE (NAP) would have finished closer at Sedgefield on his handicap debut if not for a slip. He recovered well to finish third and gets another chance on that form given the first two home have both won subsequently. Monfass can figure if settling better while Alghazaal is worth noting on his handicap bow despite failing to figure in decent novice races.
