Moonmaiden is selected to get the better of Elizabethan Age, with Balletto and Venetian Lullaby worth a mention. Moonmaiden shaped like a sure-fire future winner when second to Coup d'Etat at Kempton on her seasonal reappearance, and Mick Channon's filly will be a popular choice to go one better over this furlong longer trip today. She seems to have strengthened up over the winter and could turn into a decent mile handicapper. Elizabethan Age lost out in close photos on both of her first two starts, but then flopped in Listed company at Newmarket on her third and final outing in October. Time will tell if she has trained on, while a watching brief is also advised on the likes of Balletto and newcomer Venetian Lullaby who is a half-sister to a couple of winners up to a mile. Small trainer Bob Johnson has his string in fine fettle at present so it would be no surprise if Montrachet Belle were to give a good account first time, but we shall side with Moonmaiden in the finale.
