Bapak Muda started favourite for a Catterick maiden last month but never looked like winning, though the winner has scored again since. Mandeville was an easy winner at Chester in August but hasn't been seen since. Last year's course and distance winner Grandorio returns from a similar break off an 8lb higher mark but Iggy won a Wolverhampton maiden in January and is bred to stay this trip. ERSAAL is still a maiden but showed promise in all three starts as a juvenile and may have been let in lightly here. Roger Varian's colt can open his account now.
