In what looks a very competitive race, Futoo is taken to get the better of Zandeed, with Melodian and Maritime Blues also on the shortlist. The latter scored in a decent time on heavy ground at Ayr, but was not as effective on better ground at Redcar last time. Melodian is in great heart at the age of nine, and has won twice this season, so merits consideration if turning out quickly after his engagement at York on Sunday. Zandeed won well over a mile at Redcar last time, is still on a good mark and should not be too worried by today's extra trip, so must surely go well, but we just prefer Futoo. George Moore's gutsy front-runner just failed to hold on at Ripon last time, having earlier scored at Haydock and Beverley. The handicapper hasn't had a chance to reassess him yet, and this progressive sort looks capable of scoring again.
