Bid For Fame still looks on a winnable mark and is taken to get himself back in the winners enclosure at the expense of Alexander Huricane and Optical Illusion. The selection won off a five pound lower mark at Pontefract in June and has since run with credit. He was not beaten far behind Royal Challenge at the same venue when last seen out and if he is able to recapture that same level of form he will be sure to be in the shake up. Alexander Huricane will pose as the main rival, but has been increasingly difficult to win with of late. He won three races on the all weather during the winter but has finished second too many times of late for our liking so has to be treated with some caution. Optical Illusion won an average looking handicap at Hamilton on his penultimate run but ran under par at the same venue last time out so a question mark now hangs over his head. So for the winner we return to Bid For Gold.
