In depth

Verdict

Calin's Lad has been in good form over 7f and won at Kempton before going close again. National Anthem failed to land a hat-trick when beaten at Southwell a fortnight ago and debuts on the surface but ATHOLLBLAIR BOY ran well over track and trip last time in a tougher race than this. He’ll be sharper for that first start since October and he gets the nod with Izzy Clifton taking 7lb off his back today. The remaining trio are harder to fancy on recent form unless Double Up reproduces an earlier placed effort at Wolverhampton.
