Verdict

Hurcle made a winning debut when scoring over the minimum trip here but that was in July last year. UNION is preferred as Roger Varian’s colt improved to win over course and distance last month with plenty to spare and gets the vote to defy a penalty with further progress on the cards. Superior Moment was beaten five lengths by the winner when runner-up at Wolverhampton though still finished clear of the rest while Mossbawn, a half-sister to a winner, may prove best of the newcomers.
