        Verdict

        PAVERS STAR has the best recent form with a close-up third at Musselburgh last time having won at the same track before that. He gets a token vote in an unappealing handicap. Most of the others are struggling at present with the likes of Foreign Rhythm, Invincible Lad and Sunrise Dance having plummeted down the weights as a consequence. But Arch Walker managed to make the frame at Yarmouth in August and Captain Scooby is usually thereabouts at this level without being good enough to win.
