Verdict
The betting may offer valuable clues in a tricky opener and strong support for MURGAN could prove significant. He cost 190,000gns, is a brother to Group 2 winner Midas Touch and is entered in the Racing Post Trophy later in the month - he's preferred to fellow newcomer Keble. Ali Bin Nayef has shown a glimpse of promise on the all-weather while both Puissant and Stravagante are expected to improve on the back of debut efforts at Newbury and Sandown respectively. Mezajy is another with a shout stepping up in trip.
