made all, driven clear approaching final furlong, readily
chased leaders, ridden 4f out, weakened 2f out
in touch, ridden 4f out, weakened over 1f out
in touch until ridden and weakened over 5f out
held up, headway 5f out, stayed on, never nearer
mid-division, headway 6f out, chased winner 2f out, not quicken final furlong
held up, headway halfway, kept on same pace
chased leaders until ridden and weakened 4f out
chased leaders, ridden over 3f out, kept on same pace
never better than mid-division
never dangerous
mid-division, stayed on final furlong, never nearer
A real "watch the market" race if ever there was one. Sixo comes here as the sole racewinner. He did beat more experienced runners on that debut at Newton Abbot but the form of that win has not been upheld since. However, Jean Broadhurst and Matt Archer rarely send their runners out to simply sample the air. Trevor Hemmings' runners always warrant respect in these races and King Player dons the colours today. Nicky Henderson's charge has Mick Fitzgerald on board (rather than Marcus Foley) and this raises obvious questions. Any market moves for horses from the yards of Charlie Egerton (23% strike rate in this type of race this term), Alan King (14%) or Venetia Williams (16%) must be followed.
