Verdict

A winner on the Flat last month, Gumball faded at Carlisle once headed. Star Max was 1-20 over fences in Ireland and is having a first run for a new yard but Eclair D'Ainay can go close after a decent pipe-opener at Wetherby with Harry Skelton preferring him to trail-blazer King D'argent. Along with Sully D'Oc Aa, FRERO BANBOU (NAP) has a few lengths to find with Grey Diamond on Ascot running but Venetia Williams’ six-year-old looked more in need of the run than most that day and might be worth another chance. Numitor kept going in fine style to score at Wetherby and looks to be improving with the four-year-old Il Ridoto also a contender having had a run.
