A competitive enough event in which Wake Up Smiling can account for Lord Buckingham and Mr Gisby. Wake Up Smiling returns to the track where he scored at big odds on his handicap debut and having held an entry in our opening contest, connections have elected to take the significantly easier option and he reopposes Grand Prairie. While that horse was the favourite on the day, he was already well held when exiting at the last. Lord Buckingham was conspicuously easy to back at Taunton on his last visit and does not appear to have progressed over the course of the season. It will be interesting to see how the market reads it today. Mr Gisby finished third in a "Hands and Heels" event over 2m3f at Newbury. He is however plenty exposed and will not appreciate this softer surface. Of the remainder, Snipe makes some appeal. Ian Williams' representative has bits and pieces of form at lower levels and does have a decent jockey booked. We will stick with the vagaries of course form and suggest Wake Up Smiling in the closing race.
