In depth

Verdict

Not a great deal of strength in depth and we will take course winner Fountain Hill to take the scalps of Bay Kenny and Young Collier. Fountain Hill showed plenty of battling qualities in disposing of Grey Report earlier in the month and while it is worth remembering that he was in receipt of plenty of weight, he looked tenacious in the battle and should be capable of staying this trip. Bay Kenny has done nothing wrong this term and he produced a remarkable effort to score at Plumpton. Today's opposition looks tougher and he will not be able to get away with errors against this level of opposition. Young Collier was an out-and-out stayer on the flat but he was on a hiding to nothing against Royal Rosa at Haydock. Chasing will be his game in the future. Of the remainder, Special Conquest looks likely to run a sound race at bigger odds with the proviso that there is plenty of cut in the ground. Fountain Hill gets our verdict in the third race on the card.
