Verdict

There are some interesting newcomers in this bumper but the Paul Nicholls-trained BALDING BANKER sets a decent standard following his second of 12 behind Persian Snow at Ascot last month and he looks the one to beat and gets the vote to open his account. Nicky Henderson does well with his runners in bumpers and introduces a son of Old Vic in Flowerdew, who has to be of interest first time out, while Alan King saddles the Kayf Tara gelding Gospel Preacher, who is bred to be useful. Alan King is also represented by Next Man In, while Nicky Henderson also saddles Nomansland for J P McManus and it is difficult to know which is the better of his two runners.
