Verdict

Penalised Plumpton winner Ballyheigue Bay needs a thorough test of stamina and may not get that here. Scooby wasn’t winning out of turn at Plumpton but Southwell scorer Malapie is less exposed. Cadeau George is back in the right grade and Beer Goggles appreciated the switch back to hurdles at Exeter last month. BARON DU PLESSIS should have few problems stepping up to 3m and is likely to be competitive off bottom weight. He gets the nod to open his account with Mighty Leader’s form in the autumn not really working out.
