YOU'RE HIRED, a 130,000gns yearling, is a half-brother to Firmament, who won this last year. He made a very encouraging debut behind Vincent's Forever at Leicester and gets the vote to go one better. That winner and Firmament are trained by John Gosden, who has two entries here, City Of Ideas, who was well beaten at Newmarket in July, and the newcomer High Kestrel, a half-brother to three winners. Kelvin Hall made a decent start at Haydock despite being a 33/1 chance but the one who really catches the eye on breeding is Midterm. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is a son of Galileo out of the brilliant Midday and would only need a fraction of either's ability to win this. Shabeeb is another who should prove a nice type being a half-brother to two winners.
