We have drawn up a shortlist here of Turbo, Blythe Knight, Torcello, Pagan Sky and, possibly, Bourgainville, with the choice being Turbo. The selection comes into the reckoning by virtue of the fact that he is now back to the mark from which he last won and goes well on soft. Interestingly, he was second in this race last year on good going to Pagan Sky, and is two pounds better of for the length he was beaten and his rider claims three today. Admittedly, his recent form has not been explosive but he might be set to come good again. Pagan Sky has to be given a chance, being just two pounds above a winning mark although he has yet to display form on soft. Blythe Knight has retained his form well and goes on the going and, with a good run in the Cambridgeshire behind him, could go well. Bourgainville is very well handicapped on his form of 2002 but has lost his way of late, while Tizzy May, who acts on soft, holds claims if getting back to her spring form. Shazhan House is often placed but but the handicapper seems to have got hold of him for now. Finally, Carte Sauvage has been absent since finishing sixth in the UAE 2,000 Guineas and is unproven on the going but a market move for him would be interesting. Overall, though, the vote goes to Turbo.
