The short list in the opener contains Dijeer, Dubai's Touch and Striving Storm, with the selection being Dijeer. Following his Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes third, Dijeer sets the standard here and should play a leading part in the contest. Already placed in two Group events this season, including when third to Stategic Prince in the July Stakes, Dubai's Touch rates as a big danger, while Mythical Kid may not have beaten too much when scoring on his course and distance debut, but this $1.4 million colt has plenty of scope for further improvement. Similar comments apply to the good-looking Striving Storm, who won at Haydock last time despite the going, while Tobosa has earned a step up in class with some praiseworthy efforts. Finally, Desert Dew and Opera Music have won their maidens well but this represents a step up in class. Not so with Dijeer, who is the selection in the opener.
