Verdict
Trade Fair bids to bounce back after disappointing in the Sussex Stakes, and should be too classy for Lago d'Orto, with only Spinola of the rest offering any sort of threat. Trade Fair lined up strongly fancied in the Group 1 contest at Goodwood, but the rain-softened ground put paid to his chance after he had threatened briefly at the distance, and in the end he trailed home in sixth place, with Richard Hughes not being too hard on the son of Zafonic. In addition to the underfoot conditions on the day, the other factor to take into consideration is that all his wins have been over seven furlongs, and back over that trip on fast ground, he looks a banker to make amends. Lago d'Orta should be the one to follow him home, having earned a place in this Listed contest with five victories this term. The latest, a battling success at Chester, showed he has guts, but has he got the class to win this. Probably not, and nor has Spinola who just does not seem able to get her head in front since landing the Cherry Hinton in soft ground last year. Trade Fair will be well backed here and should improve your bank balance with little difficulty.
