Cop Hill Lad looked a horse to follow when beating subsequent Woodcote Stakes winner Parkview Love at Pontefract in May and has to be respected despite his big weight but Richard Hannon looks to hold the key to the outcome of this race with Prince of Denmark the preferred runner of his three representatives. The consistent Mac The Knife and the unexposed If Paradise also represent the Hannon yard that has a great record in this contest but they do not have the form of their stablemate, who looks the one to be on. Frankie Dettori has been booked for the Arab-owned colt, who notched up a quick hat-trick at the start of the campaign with wins at Folkestone, Lingfield and Windsor. Although beaten in all three starts since then, the son of Danetime has held his form well and, off what looks a favourable weight, he gets the nod. Cop Hill Lad rates the main danger if able to reproduce the same form that he showed at Pontefract but the shorter trip may not be in his favour. Sir Ernest and Danesmead are others worthy of a mention but Parkview Love has plenty going for him and gets the vote.
