This Listed race has attracted a very strong line-up. Murillo led for a long way in the 2000 Guineas and theoretically holds Cardsharp on that run, though 6f may be on the short side. Juliet Capulet won a Group 2 at Newmarket in September before a run at the Breeders’ Cup but John Gosden’s filly has a penalty to carry. Never Back Down was fancied at Lingfield on his reappearance but proved impossible to steer and finished tailed off. He’s been gelded since but has a lot of ground to make up on Breathless Times. EQTIDAAR couldn’t match the pace of Invincible Army at Ascot earlier this month but the winner is a top-class sprinter in the making and Sir Michael Stoute’s colt, who has had just the three runs, is interesting in this. Shabaaby is also open to improvement but Jim Crowley prefers the selection.
