Dartford is the only three-year-old on show but is probably only in this to ensure a decent pace for stablemate Masked Marvel. The latter has struggled since winning last year's St Leger beating today's rival Brown Panther by three lengths though Tom Dascombe's charge reversed running when finishing a respectable seventh to Danedream in the King George at Ascot last time. He has solid claims on that form but MOUNT ATHOS is just preferred. He gave the impression he was ready to take on this sort of company when storming clear of the field carrying top weight in a Listed handicap at York last month and Luca Cumani's charge gets the nod. Harris Tweed has a penalty for winning the John Porter here back in April but should run his usual game race ahead of the disappointing Modun and the raider from Qatar, Arrigo, who has a bit to find on his past form in Germany.
