Verdict

Partners In Jazz is dropping back to an attractive mark and looks booked for a good run here but preference is for the less exposed Lovelace, while Folly Lodge and Burning Incense can also be given a squeak. The Mark Johnston-trained selection looks a progressive colt, having won at Haydock and then Leicester over this trip so far this campaign. The latter success was impressive and as he acts both on fast and slow ground he won't mind underfoot conditions, so he looks a solid bet. Partners In Jazz is slowly sliding down the weights but is still 3lb higher than when winning at Ascot in May 2006. He is at least battle hardened in this sphere and should not be dismissed lightly. Folly Lodge won over c&d on good to soft back in May but has looked in the grip of the handicapper since, while it is a similar story with Burning Incense. Seal Point won a 9f maiden at Nad Al Sheba in February and takes a big drop in class after being thrashed in the UAE Derby on his only subsequent start, so a big run is anticipated, but Lovelace looks on the upgrade and can take this.
