ZEEBAND continued his good progress with a defeat of Margaret Dumont in the Northumberland Vase over today’s trip at Newcastle. There looks more to come over the distance and he can defy a rise in the weights. The progressive Rodrigo Diaz has won over 1m6f and steps up in trip while Mildenberger has yet to win a handicap but Withhold landed this contest off a higher mark back in 2019. Scaramanga has been in winning form over hurdles though Paul Nicholls’ charge has yet to win on the Flat but Call My Bluff has won four of only seven starts on Turf albeit in lower grade races. Mancini gets another change of headgear representing last year’s winning yard and stablemate Indianapolis slips further down the weights.
