Verdict

The progressive Three Graces looks an excellent bet for the card's final race, with Able Baker Charlie the one most likely to chase him home. The latter was a very disappointing favourite when a well-beaten fifth at Doncaster last time, but had earlier shown up well at Newmarket and it is probably worth forgiving him that one poor effort. The Glen and Topton have both been running well of late but appear to just about be in the handicappper's grip, while Mamore Gap faces a much stiffer task than when winning an apprentice handicap over course and distance a couple of runs ago. So Marcus Tregoning's Three Graces is a confident selection, having scored in pleasing fashion over a mile at Haydock last time, his second victory in just four starts to date. This extra furlong should not trouble him, he has still got plenty of scope and is confidently fancied to defy a six pound penalty here.
