All Ivory did everything asked of him when scoring at Newmarket last time but that was against his own age group and Roger Charlton's colt looks worth taking on against older rivals today with preference for Primo Way, who gets the vote over Night Air. The last mentioned has struggled to confirm his all-weather form on turf this year but ran better behind New Seeker over course and distance last month and cannot be discounted on that evidence. Richard Hannon's Psychiatrist is capable of taking a hand and has been given a break since he was last seen, while Clive Brittain's Bahiano is a consistent performer and is entitled to be thereabouts again. Material Witness is better than his latest effort would suggest but could probably do with some more help from the handicapper, while Capable Guest is not certain to reproduce his best and is probably best left out of calculations. King Marju and Prince of Thebes are others to consider but the vote goes to Primo Way, who showed at Lingfield in May and again at Chester last time that he is more than capable of taking a race of this nature and the Barry Hills-trained colt is taken to do so.
