In depth

Verdict

Roger Charlton is adept at steadily improving his three-year-olds and LION FACE can prove the point moving into handicaps for the first time and also taking on his elders. He still looked far from the finished article when scoring at Leicester, so it's fair to assume there's more to come after a mere three starts. He looks on a fair mark and cheekpieces are applied. Fellow three-year-old, The Guvnor, is respected and could improve for a first try on ground with cut. He's going the right way. Arthalot looks best of the older brigade along with Lucky Draw and Beggarman, who performed better than his finishing position suggests on comeback after a lengthy absence.
