Capofaro landed a four-timer on the all-weather tracks before beaten at Windsor and it was soft going when John Betjeman finished runner-up over 7f here ahead of Rosamour. There was also cut in the ground when Balata Bay placed over 7f here last week though he represents last year’s winning yard while Rambaldi has been raised only 2lb for scoring at Nottingham last time. Trelinney posted a better effort over 1m2f at Goodwood recently but MANDOCELLO made a winning start in handicaps with a victory over today’s trip at Windsor and he gets the vote with plenty of scope for further progress and Oisin Murphy taking over the reins.
