Emperor Ross was travelling well when unseating his jockey at Ayr last time and is taken to gain compensation here at the main expense of Red Brook Lad and Silver Castle. The last mentioned warrants respect having made a winning start to his hunter chase career when successful at Bangor last month but this looks tougher. Minella Silver has been running well in point-to-points and was not disgraced over regulation fences at Towcester last time and is another to consider along with the consistent pair of Red Brook Lad and The Butterwick Kid. Emperor Ross was a useful handicapper a couple of seasons ago though and clearly still retains plenty of ability. Granted a clear round he should be too good for his rivals.
