Winning hurdler TENZING made a very promising chasing debut at Fairyhouse then couldn't quite catch stable companion Ramillies over this trip at Thurles. He's up against another from the yard here in Aione, with Paul Townend on board the latter, but Sean O'Keefe can steer him to an opening victory over fences. Shantreusse was behind in that Fairyhouse event but showed definite progress when getting a stiffer test of stamina at Punchestown on New Year's Eve though had very little to spare over Mahler Mission. Capilano Bridge was beaten a long way when runner-up at Fairyhouse and Genois has been making too many mistakes. Gars De Sceaux was a smart hurdler in 2021 and has plenty of time to show his potential.
