Lariat is only 2lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Bellewstown in April but Bolero disappointed when well supported at Thurles following a narrow defeat at Bellewstown. Bill Lee was on board when Alfalfa showed his first sign of ability at Thurles and the longer trip can bring about further improvement though he was first reserve in the 5.10 at Gowran yesterday. MAJESTIC JEWEL went clear at this trip when tackling two miles at Thurles and was only headed close home so looks the one to beat despite being raised 7lb. Dual hurdles winner Wajaaha was staying on over 1m4f at the Curragh and both trip and ground are in his favour.
