Verdict
A cracking novice chase to kick things off with the majority given every chance and Messrs Mullins and Elliott providing five of the eight participants. Jockey bookings indicate that Stattler, an impressive scorer on his sole chasing run at Fairyhouse, is the stable preferred as the choice of Paul Townend and there's every chance he'll improve considerably for the experience. However, RUN WILD FRED has a major edge in experience over the latter and will have no problem handling conditions. He has stamina to burn too and looks the safest option in a difficult race, with his stable companion Farouk D'Alene and Vanillier suggested as shortlist possibles.
