Verdict

An interesting beginners' chase to round off the meeting. Cedarwood Road beat a huge field of maiden hurdlers very easily at Leopardstown in December before then beating the smart Beacon Edge in a Naas Listed contest. Commander Of Fleet landed a Grade 1 novice hurdle over 2m6f at Leopardstown in February last year before runner-up to Minella Indo in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham. But he went lame in his next start in May and hasn't run subsequently. JANIDIL was in excellent form at this time a year ago, completing a hat-trick in a Grade A handicap at Fairyhouse in December. He didn't run again until Cheltenham, where he performed with credit, and will be tuned up for this. January Jets won a Galway maiden hurdle in September and had little chance against Envoi Allen on his chasing debut at Down Royal but kept on nicely and had the remainder a long way behind.
