Great Value has shown enough ability for him to get competitive here though he may have to wait for a longer trip to lose his maiden tag. Clarinwood was having his first start for over two years when a decent fifth at Fairyhouse last month but could just need another run to put him straight. Lockdown wasn't beaten far on his racecourse debut at Galway in October and was fancied when sent over 2m4f at Punchestown the following month. He had no answer to Zaidapour that day but should do better back over the minimum trip. Serein was disqualified after finishing first past the post in a Fairyhouse bumper in October and has continued to run well, including over hurdles at Leopardstown last month. JOHNNY MCGEENEY doesn't look the most straightforward of rides and was outbattled by Canaly at Fairyhouse last time. But the big field here should suit and he can finally get off the mark over hurdles, providing Paul Townend can hold on to him until the last moment.
