Verdict

PRINCE OF SCARS has been ready to make his much anticipated debut over fences for some time and though taking on plenty of rivals his quality should see him through. The winner of two handicaps over timber, he then landed the Grade One Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown in December before finishing third to Thistlecrack in the Stayers' Hurdle at Aintree. Gordon Elliott also runs General Principle, a dual bumper and maiden hurdle winner who has a very smart pedigree for jumping fences. Three Wise Men wasn't far behind Koshari at Punchestown in April and is just the type his trainer does so well with but the main threat should come from Acapella Bourgeois. Sandra Hughes' charge is a dual Grade Two winner over hurdles and wasn't beaten far behind Bellshill in a Punchestown Grade One in April so he's another exciting prospect for chasing. Winning point-to-pointer Thecraicisninety made a bright start over fences on heavy going at Roscommon and is one to note for the coming months.
