This looks wide open but Monaadhil has been knocking on the door again lately and is one of several course and distance winners in the line-up. How Bizarre won here in June and has made all at Beverley the last twice. He’ll be prominent again from stall five while Monhammer beat RORY and Merricourt over track and trip last month. But the handicapper has given Jim Goldie’s charge a real chance today having dropped him 4lb since. Coaxing didn’t cope with rain-softened ground at Catterick last time and Sparkle In His Eye likes it here. Non Mollare and Shifter were winners in this grade last time but have more on their plate today.
Sparkle In His Eye 17-2 (9-10) Prominent, joined leader 2f out, ridden to lead inside final furlong, asserted close home, won at Musselburgh 7f hcp (6) gd in Aug beating Patontheback (10-2) by 1/2l, 9 ran.
