Dave put up a much-improved performance to win at Folkestone on his reappearance, and is confidently expected to follow up here; Rectangle, Peter's Choice and Strawberry Patch can prove best of the rest. Despite rearing when coming out of the stalls, Dave still managed to make just about all of the running and win by three lengths last week. As that was an apprentice handicap, he escapes a penalty here, and with a plum draw in stall one he looks a solid investment. Rectangle is well treated on his best form and was a close second at Pontefract earlier this month, but does not look to have an ideal draw. Peter's Choice returned to form when just failing to make all at Carlisle last time, and should again be thereabouts. Strawberry Patch hinted that he might be coming to hand when fifth to Awake at Newcastle last week, but they will all have their work cut out to beat Dave here.
