Verdict
BEGGARS CAP is the hopeful selection to win this handicap chase which despite the small field, a case can be made for the majority. George Moore's string are currently experiencing a lean spell which would be the concern where All For The Cause is concerned while Notre Cyborg has climbed up the weights but cannot be left out of the equation. Beggars Cap returned at Aintree for his seasonal debut. That contest was run on testing ground and run a fast pace right from the outset. Those circumstances were far from ideal for this seasonal debut and his rider rightly opted to pull him up when his chance had gone. He has shown in the past that he likes to dominate proceedings and he should be allowed to do so. All For The Cause holds an attractive handicap mark over fences relative to his hurdles mark. His three efforts to-date over fences fail to match what he proved he is capable of over hurdles but one suspects we have not seen the best of this point-to-point winner over fences. Notre Cyborg has contested two good contests of late, firstly a novice chase won by Afsoun at Warwick and the second behind Medicinal in a competitive handicap last weekend. He is 15lb higher than the mark from which he achieved his last victory over fences. Two miles looks as if it might be on the sharp side for the veteran Moor Spirit at this stage of his career. Beggars Cap can win it for the Ferdy Murphy yard.
