Verdict

A competitive field gets proceedings under way but the principals look to be Ace Club, Flying Bantam and Big Tom and we will take a chance on Ace Club. The colt from the William Haggas yard was a good second on his debut behind Paradise Isle, he is sure to have learnt from the experience and although he will probably be better over further in time he is taken to score. Flying Bantam rates the main danger. He was well beaten in a much better race over six furlongs last time out but he should appreciate the return to the minimum trip and he has definite place claims. Big Tom would have a chance on his best form but he looks to have regressed. Of the remainder Champagne Cracker is from a yard that does well here but we are happy to stick with the promising Ace Club.
