In depth

Verdict

Linda Perratt's Lucky Largo has rather harshly been raised 5lbs for finishing second to Sting Like A Bee at Ayr last time and preference is for Archirondel, who gets the vote ahead of Ellway Heights. The last mentioned filled second spot behind Millennium Hall at Hamilton on his return recently but would need a career best effort to win this. Jim Goldie's string is in good form at present so Repulse Bay has to be respected, while a market move for Chevin on his reappearance would be of interest. The vote though goes to Archirondel. Micky Hammond's gelding, a winner at Redcar over nine furlongs off a mark of 48 at the beginning of the month, ran well off today's mark when a quarter of a length second behind Little Task over course and distance last week. A reproduction of that effort may suffice.
